Transmitter precautions
✽ NOTICE
The transmitter will not operate in the following cases:
- The ignition key is in the ignition switch.
- You have exceeded the operating range (approx. 10 m [30 ft]).
- The transmitter battery is discharged.
- Other vehicles or objects may block the signal.
- Extremely cold weather.
- The transmitter is near a radio transmitter, such as a broadcast radio station or airport, which may interfere with normal transmitter operation.
If the transmitter does not operate properly, open and close the door with the ignition key. If you have problems with the transmitter, we recommend that you contact an authorized Kia dealer.
- If the transmitter is in close proximity to your mobile phone or smartphone, the transmitter signal may be blocked during normal operation of your mobile phone or smartphone. This is especially important when the phone is active, for example making or receiving calls, sending or receiving text messages and/or e-mails. Avoid placing the transmitter and mobile phone or smartphone in the same trouser or jacket pocket, and keep a distance between the two devices.
CAUTION
Keep the transmitter away from water or any other liquid. If the keyless entry system does not work due to exposure to water or liquids, it is not covered by your vehicle manufacturer's warranty.
CAUTION
Changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user's authority to operate the equipment. If the keyless entry system does not operate due to changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance, it is not covered by your vehicle manufacturer's warranty.
CAUTION
Keep the transmitter away from electromagnetic materials that block electromagnetic waves to the key surface.
