Warning Message

A message will appear to notify the driver if there is foreign matter on or inside the rear bumper or near the rear bumper, or if the area becomes hot. The warning light on the switch will illuminate and the system will turn off automatically. Remove the foreign matter from the rear bumper.

After removing the foreign matter, if you drive for approximately 10 minutes, the system will operate normally.

If the system does not operate normally even after the foreign matter has been removed, have your vehicle inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.

The message may appear even when there is no foreign matter on the rear bumper, for example when driving in rural or open areas such as deserts where there is insufficient data for operation.

This message may also appear during heavy rain or due to road spray from other vehicles and trailers.

When you use a trailer or other accessory, turn off the system. If you want to use the Blind-Spot Detection system, remove the trailer or other accessory.

In this case, the vehicle does not require service.

If the system does not operate properly, a warning message will appear and the indicator on the switch will turn off. The system will turn off automatically.
