Description

The oil pump main relay is installed inside the HEV fuse and relay box in the engine compartment. When the Oil Pump Unit (OPU) activates the oil pump main relay, the electric current required to operate the Electric Oil Pump (EOP) passes through the Oil Pump Unit (OPU) and is supplied to the Electric Oil Pump (EOP). In general, operation of the EOP is controlled by the TCM via CAN communication. However, if CAN communication fails, there is a backup hard-wired connection between the TCM and the Oil Pump Unit (OPU), as shown below.
