Filter Replacement

The element should be replaced when necessary. It must not be washed.

The filter can be cleaned when the air cleaner element is inspected. Clean the filter using compressed air.

1. Loosen the air cleaner cover clamps and open the cover.

2. Wipe the inside of the air cleaner housing.

3. Replace the air filter element.

4. Secure the cover with the cover mounting clips.

Replace the filter in accordance with the maintenance schedule.

If the vehicle is operated in very dusty or sandy areas, replace the element more frequently than the normal recommended intervals.

CAUTION

• Do not drive with the air cleaner removed; this will cause excessive engine wear.
• When removing the air filter, take care that dust or dirt does not enter the air intake, as this may cause damage.
• Use only genuine Kia parts. Using non-genuine parts may damage the air flow sensor.
