Removal of Parking Brake Cable

Parking Brake Pedal Type

1. 1
   Turn the ignition OFF and disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.

   Remove the lower instrument panel cover. (Refer to Body - "Lower Instrument Panel Cover")

   Remove the parking brake cable bracket nut (A) and bolts (B).

   Remove the parking brake cable adjusting nut (A) and retaining clip (B), then remove the parking brake pedal.

   Remove the floor console. (Refer to Body - "Floor Console")

   Loosen the adjusting nut (A) and the parking brake cables (B).

   Raise the vehicle and make sure it is securely supported.

   Remove the rear wheel and tire.

   Remove the parking brake cable (B) after removing the retaining clip (A).

    Loosen the parking brake cable bracket bolts and remove the rear parking brake cable.

    Installation is the reverse of removal.

    Turn the ignition OFF and disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.

    Remove the floor console. (Refer to Body - "Floor Console")

    Loosen the adjusting nut (A) and the parking brake cables (B).

    Raise the vehicle and make sure it is securely supported.

    Remove the rear wheel and tire.

    Remove the parking brake cable (B) after removing the retaining clip (A).

    Loosen the parking brake cable bracket bolts and remove the rear parking brake cable.

    Installation is the reverse of removal.
