Description

Navigation System Limitations: GPS Signal Reception Conditions. When GPS satellite signals are received/transmitted in straight lines, reception may not work if objects are on or near the GPS antenna, or while traveling in the following locations.
  • Tunnels
  • Underground parking structures
  • Under elevated roads
  • Roads through forested areas
  • Areas near high-rise buildings
  • Canyon roads
Vehicle Position Display
  1. If multipath errors occur due to reflections from buildings or similar causes, the current position mark on the navigation screen may differ from the actual vehicle position.
  2. The vehicle position on the navigation system may differ from the actual position if the vehicle is in the following conditions. However, it will be corrected automatically by map matching or GPS information after driving a short distance. (This may take several minutes in some cases.)
    • When driving on a narrow-angle Y-intersection road, the current position may be displayed in the opposite direction.
    • If the vehicle is being transported on a car carrier, the current position mark may stop at the last position before loading.
    • When driving on a spiral road.
    • When driving in mountainous areas with steep curves or sudden braking.
    • When exiting a road after being in a subway, parking structure, building parking structure, or turntable with multiple rotations.
    • When tires have been recently replaced (especially when using spare or non-studded tires).
    • If the battery terminal has been disconnected.
    • When driving on city streets, the current position may be displayed on the opposite side of the road or in an off-road position.
    • When the zoom level is changed from the maximum zoom level to another zoom level, the current position mark may be displayed on a different road.
    • When driving in heavy traffic with frequent stops or intersections.
    • When driving on slippery roads, such as deep sand, snow, etc.
    • When driving with snow chains installed.
    • When using tires of an incorrect size.
    • When the pressure in all 4 tires differs from each other.
    • When the replacement tire is worn or used (especially non-studded tires used for a second season, etc.).
    • When driving near high-rise buildings.
    • If a roof rack is installed.
    • When driving at high speed or when calculating a long-distance route.
Route Guidance: A suitable route guidance may not be available due to search conditions or driving conditions.
  • On a straight road, a straight-ahead instruction may be given.
  • Guidance may not be given even when turning at an intersection.
  • There are certain intersections where guidance may not be provided.
  • In some cases, route guidance may signal the driver about entering a restricted area (restricted zone, road under construction, etc.).
  • Guidance may be given to a location near the actual destination if roads to the actual destination do not exist or are too narrow.
  • If the vehicle deviates from the designated route, incorrect voice guidance may be given (for example, if it turned at an intersection where navigation instructed it to go straight).
  • Missing or incorrect map data may result in route guidance being unavailable.
Route Recalculation: The following events may occur after route recalculation is performed.
  • Guidance may be given for a position other than the current position if the vehicle has turned at an intersection.
  • Route recalculation may take longer when driving at high speed.
  • A route guidance signal for a U-turn may appear in an area where U-turns are prohibited.
  • In some cases, route guidance may signal the driver about entering a restricted area (restricted zone, road under construction, etc.).
  • Guidance may be given to a location near the actual destination if roads to the actual destination do not exist or are too narrow.
  • If the vehicle deviates from the route, incorrect voice guidance may be given from the designated route (for example, if the vehicle turns at an intersection where navigation indicated to go straight).
