Electric Parking Brake (EPB) Repair Procedures

Removal

   Turn the ignition switch OFF and disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.

   Remove the console assembly. (Refer to Body - "Console Assembly").

   Remove the nuts securing the EPB control unit, then remove the EPB control unit.

   Tightening torque: 3.9 ~ 5.9 N·m

   Disconnect the connector (A) from the EPB control unit.

Installation

   Install in the reverse order of removal.

   After replacing the EPB control unit with a new one, perform the "Variant Coding" procedure.

   Perform "G-Sensor Calibration" using GDS.

   Make sure the brake operates normally by pressing the EPB switch more than 3 times after installing the EPB module.

   Turn the ignition OFF and connect GDS.

   With the ignition ON and the engine OFF, select the vehicle name and the EPB system.

   Select the EPB Variant coding mode.

   Perform the "EPB Variant Coding" procedure using GDS.

   Perform the "Variant Coding" procedure.
