Filter Replacement

■ THETA II 2 L T-GDI Engine (Gasoline)

■ Lambda II PE 3.3 L T-GDI Engine (Gasoline) (Passenger Side)

The air filter must be replaced when necessary. It must not be washed.

Have the air filter element inspected or replaced by an authorized Kia dealer.

■ Lambda II PE 3.3 L T-GDI Engine (Gasoline) (Driver Side)

Replace the filter in accordance with the maintenance schedule.

If the vehicle is operated in very dusty or sandy areas, replace the element more often than the normal recommended intervals. (Refer to Severe Service Maintenance in this chapter.)

CAUTION - Air Filter Service

  • Do not drive with the air cleaner removed; this will cause excessive engine wear.
  • When removing the air filter, take care that dust or dirt does not enter the air intake, as this may cause damage.
  • Use a genuine Kia part. Use of a non-genuine part may cause damage to the mass air flow sensor.
