You must exercise extreme care to prevent damage to your vehicle and injury to yourself when performing any maintenance or inspection procedures.

If you have any doubts about the inspection or maintenance of your vehicle, we strongly recommend that this work be performed by an authorized Kia dealer.

Authorized Kia dealers have factory-trained technicians and genuine Kia replacement parts to properly service your vehicle. For qualified advice and quality service, see an authorized Kia dealer.

Improper, incomplete, or insufficient maintenance may cause problems with your vehicle, which could result in damage to the vehicle, an accident, or personal injury.

Owner Responsibility

✽ NOTICE

Maintenance and record keeping are the responsibility of the owner.

You must keep documents proving that proper maintenance has been performed on your vehicle according to the scheduled maintenance intervals shown on the following pages. This information is necessary to verify your compliance with the maintenance requirements of your vehicle warranty.

Detailed warranty information is provided in the Warranty and Consumer Information manual.

Repairs and adjustments required as a result of improper maintenance or failure to perform required maintenance are not covered.

We recommend that your vehicle be serviced and repaired by an authorized Kia dealer. An authorized Kia dealer meets Kia's high standards of service quality and receives technical support from Kia to provide you with a high level of service satisfaction.

Owner Maintenance Precautions

Improper or incomplete maintenance may cause problems. This section provides instructions only for maintenance items that are easy to perform. As explained earlier in this section, some procedures may only be performed by an authorized Kia dealer with special tools.

✽ NOTICE

Improper maintenance by the owner during the warranty period may affect warranty coverage. For more details, refer to the separate "Warranty and Consumer Information" manual provided with the vehicle. If you are unsure of any service or maintenance procedure, have it performed by an authorized Kia dealer.

WARNING - Maintenance Work

Do not wear jewelry or loose clothing when working under the hood with the engine running. They may get caught in moving parts. If you must run the engine while working under the hood, be sure to remove all jewelry (especially rings, bracelets, watches and necklaces) and any ties, scarves or similar loose clothing before approaching the engine or cooling fans.

WARNING - Touching Metal Parts

Do not touch metal parts (including brackets) when the engine is running or hot. This may cause serious injury. Turn off the engine and wait for metal parts to cool before performing vehicle maintenance.
