Standard Maintenance Schedule - Except Europe (Including Russia)

The following maintenance must be performed to ensure good emissions control and performance. Keep receipts for all vehicle emissions services to protect your warranty. Where mileage and time are listed, the maintenance interval is determined by whichever occurs first.

NO. ITEM NOTICE
*1 Engine Oil and Engine Oil Filter Check the engine oil level and for leaks every 500 km (350 miles) or before a long trip.
*2 Engine Oil and Engine Oil Filter
(Diesel Engine, Europe)
  • If the recommended oil is not available, replace the engine oil and engine oil filter every 20,000 km (13,000 miles) or 12 months.

  • Check and maintain the engine oil level regularly. Operating with insufficient oil may damage the engine, and such damage is not covered by the warranty.

  • This maintenance schedule depends on fuel quality. It applies only when certified fuel <"EN590 or equivalent"> is used. If the diesel fuel does not meet EN590 specifications, the vehicle must be serviced according to the severe maintenance schedule.

*3 Engine Coolant When adding coolant, use only deionized water or soft water suitable for your vehicle. Never mix hard water with the factory-filled coolant. An improper coolant mixture may cause serious malfunction or engine damage.
*4 Drive Belts (Engine)
  • Adjust the alternator, water pump and A/C drive belt. Inspect and repair or replace as necessary.

  • Inspect the drive belt tensioner, idler pulley and alternator pulley, and repair or replace as necessary.

*5 Valve Clearance Check for excessive valve noise and/or engine vibration and adjust if necessary. If so, have the system checked at a specialized workshop. Kia recommends visiting an authorized Kia dealer/service partner.
*6 Spark Plug For your convenience, it may be replaced before its service life expires when you perform maintenance on other items.
*7 Differential Oil (Rear, Front) Replace the differential oil whenever the vehicle has been submerged in water.
*8 Differential Oil (Rear) - With LSD When replacing the LSD differential oil, use only the specified LSD oil.
*9 Fuel Additives (Gasoline) Kia recommends using unleaded gasoline with a RON (Research Octane Number) of 95 / AKI (Anti-Knock Index) of 91 or higher (for Europe), or RON 91 / AKI 87 or higher (except Europe).
For customers who do not regularly use good-quality gasoline, including fuel additives, and who experience starting problems or rough engine operation, add one bottle of fuel additive to the fuel tank every 15,000 km (10,000 miles) (for Australia and New Zealand) / 10,000 km (6,500 miles) (except Australia, New Zealand, China, Brazil) / 5,000 km (3,000 miles) (for China, Brazil). Additives can be purchased at a professional workshop together with information on how to use them. Kia recommends visiting an authorized Kia dealer/service partner. Do not mix other additives.
*10 Fuel Filter Cartridge (Diesel) This maintenance schedule depends on fuel quality. It applies only when qualified fuel <"EN590 or equivalent"> is used. If the diesel fuel does not meet the EN590 standard, it must be replaced more often. If any important safety issues occur, such as restricted fuel flow, surging, loss of power, starting problems, etc., replace the fuel filter immediately regardless of the maintenance schedule and contact a professional workshop for more details. Kia recommends contacting an authorized Kia dealer/service partner.
