Operating Conditions

  • This system is activated when the REAR PARKING ASSIST OFF indicator is not illuminated. If you want to deactivate the rear parking assist warning, press the rear parking assist warning OFF button. (The button indicator illuminates.) To reactivate the system, press the button again. (The button indicator turns off.)
  • The parking assist system is activated when the ignition is ON and the vehicle is in reverse. When the vehicle moves faster than 5 km/h, the system may not activate correctly.
  • The rear parking assist may not be able to detect objects accurately, or may detect objects at a distance of about 120 cm.
  • If more than two obstacles are detected simultaneously, the warning signal refers to the nearest obstacle.

NOTICE

The indicator may illuminate due to other objects or another sensor condition different from those shown in the illustration.

If the indicator flashes, the system should be checked at a qualified workshop. Kia recommends visiting a Kia dealer or authorized service partner.
