Air Conditioner Air Filter (if equipped)

~1min read

A: Outside air
B: Recirculated air
C: Air conditioner air filter
D: Blower
E: Evaporator core
F: Heater core

The air conditioner air filter is installed behind the glove box. It filters dust and other pollutants from the outside air that enter the vehicle through the heating and air conditioning system.

If dust or other contaminants accumulate in the filter over a long period, the airflow from the vents decreases. This leads to moisture buildup on the inside of the windshield, even when the fresh air position is selected. In this case, have the air conditioner air filter replaced at an authorized workshop. Kia recommends visiting a Kia dealer/service partner.

WARNING

  • Replace the filter according to the maintenance schedule. If the vehicle is driven in severe conditions, such as on dusty, unpaved roads, the air conditioner filter must be checked and replaced more frequently.
  • If the airflow rate suddenly decreases, have the air conditioning system checked at an authorized workshop. Kia recommends visiting a Kia dealer/service partner.
