System Activation

Verwendung des Smart-Key

Park the vehicle and turn off the engine. Activate the system as described below:

1. Stellen Sie den Motor ab.

2. Make sure that all doors, the tailgate and the hood are closed and locked.

3. • Lock the doors using the button on the front outside door handle while carrying the Smart Key with you.

After the above steps, the turn signal lights flash once briefly to indicate that the theft warning system is activated. If any door is still open, the doors cannot be locked and the buzzer sounds for 3 seconds. Close the doors and try locking them again.

If the trunk lid or hood is left open, the hazard warning lights will not flash and the theft alarm system will not be activated. When the last door and/or the trunk lid is closed, the turn signal lights will flash once briefly.

• Lock the doors by pressing the lock button on the smart key. After the above steps, the turn signal lights will flash once briefly to indicate that the theft alarm system is armed. If a door or the trunk lid is left open, the turn signal lights will not flash and the theft alarm system will not be armed. If the last door and/or the trunk lid is then closed, the turn signal lights will flash once briefly.

Park the vehicle and turn off the engine. Activate the system as described below:

1. Stellen Sie den Motor ab und ziehen Sie den Zündschlüssel ab.

2. Make sure that all doors, the tailgate and the hood are closed and locked.

3. Close the doors, then press the lock button on the remote transmitter. After the above steps, the turn signal lights will flash once briefly to indicate that the system is armed.

If a door or the trunk lid is left open, the turn signal lights will not flash and the theft alarm system will not be armed. If the last door and/or the trunk lid is then closed, the turn signal lights will flash once briefly.

• The system cannot be armed until all passengers have exited the vehicle. If the system is armed while passengers are still in the vehicle, it will only be armed after all passengers have exited. If a door, the trunk lid, or the hood is opened within 30 seconds after the alarm is armed, the system is deactivated to prevent unnecessary alarm activation.
