Always check the area around your vehicle for people, especially children, before shifting into D (Drive) or R (Reverse).

WARNING - Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs

Drinking and driving is dangerous. Drinking and driving is the number one killer on the highway year after year. Even a small amount of alcohol will affect your reflexes, perception and judgment. Driving under the influence of drugs is just as dangerous, or even more dangerous, than driving under the influence of alcohol.

You are much more likely to be seriously injured in an accident if you drink or use drugs and drive.

If you have been drinking or using drugs, do not drive. Do not ride with a driver who has been drinking or using drugs. Choose a designated driver or call a taxi.

WARNING

  • When you are going to park or stop the vehicle with the engine running, do not press the accelerator pedal for a long time. This may cause the engine or exhaust system to overheat and lead to a fire.
  • When you brake suddenly or turn the steering wheel quickly, loose items may fall to the floor and interfere with the pedals, possibly causing an accident. Always keep all items in the vehicle securely stowed.
  • If you do not concentrate on driving, an accident may result. Be careful when operating devices that may distract you while driving, such as the audio system or heater. It is the driver's responsibility to always drive safely.
