The indicator shows which dual clutch transmission position the shift lever is in.

In DS mode, the "S" indicator appears with the "SPORTS" indicator in the cluster. For more information about DS mode, refer to Chapter 5.

CAUTION - DCT

  • When a transmission system problem occurs, the transmission indicator will flash. For your safety, we recommend that you contact an authorized Kia dealer and have the system inspected.
  • When the clutch overheats, the fail-safe protection mode operates. In fail-safe protection mode, the transmission indicator flashes and the buzzer sounds three times. At this time, the LCD warning message for fail-safe protection mode is also displayed. In this condition, driving may not be smooth. If you ignore this warning, driving conditions will worsen and the system may be damaged. To return to normal driving conditions, apply the parking brake and stop the vehicle for several minutes before driving again.
