Safety Features of Your Vehicle

Infant or Small Child

~1min read

You must be aware of the specific requirements in your country. The child and/or child restraint must be properly positioned and installed in the rear seat. For more information on using these restraints, refer to "Child Restraint System" in this section.

WARNING

Every person in your vehicle must be properly restrained every time, including infants and children. Never hold a child in your arms or on your lap while riding in the vehicle. The forces of impact created during an accident will tear the child from your arms and throw the child against the interior. Always use a child restraint suitable for the child's height and weight.

✽ NOTICE

Small children are best protected from injury in an accident when properly restrained in the rear seat in a child restraint system that meets the safety standards of your country. Before purchasing any child restraint system, make sure it has a label confirming that it meets the safety standards of your country. The restraint must match your child's height and weight. Check the label on the child restraint for this information. Refer to "Child Restraint System" in this section.
