Inspection

Signal Circuit Inspection
  1. Check the clutch switch pull-up voltage.
    1. IG KEY "OFF", ENGINE "OFF".
    2. Disconnect the clutch switch connector.
    3. Turn the IG switch to ON.
    4. Measure the voltage between the signal terminal of the clutch switch harness connector and chassis ground.

      Specification: 11.5 V ~ 13.0 V

  2. Check for an open circuit in the clutch switch signal circuit.
    1. IG KEY "OFF", ENGINE "OFF".
    2. Disconnect the clutch switch connector and the ECM connector.
    3. Check the continuity between the signal terminal of the clutch switch harness connector and the ECM harness connector.

      Specification: Continuity (below 1.0 Ω)

  3. IG KEY "OFF", ENGINE "OFF".
  4. Disconnect the clutch switch connector.
  5. Check the continuity between terminal 1 of the clutch switch connector and chassis ground.

    Specification: Continuity (below 1.0 Ω)

  6. Remove the clutch switch.
  7. Press the clutch switch in the direction of the arrow and check that the continuity is open.

Removal

  1. Turn the ignition switch OFF and disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
  2. Disconnect the clutch switch connector (A).
  3. Remove the clutch switch (B) by loosening the nut (A).

Installation

  1. Install in the reverse order of removal.
  2. Adjust the clutch switch.
    1. Adjust the clearance by turning the adjusting nut (A) to meet the standard clearance range.

      Standard clearance range: 0.5 ~ 1.0 mm (0.0197 ~ 0.0394 in.)

    2. Tighten the nut (B) to the specified torque.

      Tightening torque: 7.8 ~ 9.8 N·m (0.8 ~ 1.0 kgf·m, 5.8 ~ 7.2 lbf·ft)
