Unfastened Seat Belt Warning

Please remember that the driver's seat belt warning light will illuminate for approximately 6 seconds each time you turn the ignition switch ON, regardless of whether the seat belt is fastened.

If the driver's seat belt is unfastened after the ignition switch is ON, the seat belt warning light stays illuminated until the seat belt is fastened.

If you continue to not fasten your seat belt and you drive faster than 9 km/h, the warning light will start flashing until you drive below 6 km/h (if equipped).

If you continue to not fasten your seat belt and you drive faster than 20 km/h, the fastened seat belt warning chime will sound for approximately 100 seconds and the corresponding warning light will flash (if equipped).

Please remember that the front passenger's seat belt warning light will illuminate for approximately 6 seconds each time you turn the ignition switch ON, regardless of whether the seat belt is fastened.

If the front passenger's seat belt is not fastened when the ignition switch is ON, or if it is unfastened after the ignition switch is ON, the corresponding seat belt warning light will stay illuminated until the seat belt is fastened.

If you continue to not fasten your seat belt and you drive faster than 9 km/h, the warning light will start flashing until you drive below 6 km/h.

If you continue to not fasten your seat belt and you drive faster than 20 km/h, the fastened seat belt warning chime will sound for approximately 100 seconds and the corresponding warning light will flash.

WARNING

Riding in an incorrect position adversely affects the front passenger seat belt reminder system. It is important that the driver instructs the passenger on the proper seating instructions contained in this manual.

✽ NOTICE

• The front passenger seat belt warning light is located in the center of the instrument panel.
• Even when the front passenger seat is unoccupied, the seat belt warning light may flash or stay illuminated for 6 seconds.
• The front passenger seat belt warning may operate when luggage is placed on the front passenger seat.

If the ignition switch is ON (engine not running) when a rear passenger's lap/shoulder belt is not fastened, the corresponding unfastened seat belt warning light will stay illuminated until the seat belt is fastened.

Then, the corresponding rear seat belt warning light will illuminate for approximately 35 seconds if any of the following occurs:

- You start the engine when a rear seat belt is not fastened.
- You drive faster than 9 km/h when a rear seat belt is not fastened.
- A rear seat belt is unfastened while driving below 20 km/h.

If the rear seat belt is fastened, the warning light turns off immediately.

If a rear seat belt is unfastened while you drive faster than 20 km/h, the corresponding unfastened seat belt warning light will flash and the warning chime will sound for 35 seconds.

However, if the rear passenger's lap/shoulder belt is fastened and unfastened twice within 9 seconds after being fastened, the corresponding seat belt warning light will not operate.
