Driving Your Vehicle

BCW (Blind-Spot Collision Warning) / LCA (Lane Change Assist)

~2min read

Operating Conditions

The indicator on the switch will illuminate when the BCW (Blind-Spot Collision Warning) system switch is pressed with the ignition on. If the vehicle speed exceeds 30 km/h, the system will activate.

If you press the switch again, the switch indicator and the system turn off.

If the ignition switch is turned off and then on again, the system returns to its previous state.

When the system is not in use, turn it off by pressing the switch.

When the system is turned on, the warning light on the outside rearview mirror illuminates for 3 seconds.

Warning Type

The system is activated when:

1. The system is turned on.

2. Vehicle speed is above 30 km/h.

3. Other vehicles are detected behind.

WARNING

  • Always check road conditions for unexpected situations while driving, even though the Blind-Spot Collision Warning (BCW) system is operating.
  • The Blind-Spot Collision Warning (BCW) system is an supplementary system to assist you. Do not rely entirely on the system. Always pay attention while driving for your safety.
  • The Blind-Spot Collision Warning (BCW) system does not replace proper and safe driving. Always drive safely and use caution when changing lanes or reversing the vehicle. The Blind-Spot Collision Warning (BCW) system may not detect every object near the vehicle.

Stage 1

If a vehicle is detected within the system's zone, a yellow warning light will illuminate on the outside rearview mirror.

Once the detected vehicle is no longer in the blind spot, the warning turns off depending on driving conditions.

Second-Stage Warning

Stage 2

The warning chime to alert the driver sounds when:

1. The radar system has detected a vehicle in the blind spot (i.e., the warning light illuminates on the outside rearview mirror) (i.e., first stage warning)

AND

2. The turn signal indicator turns on (on the same side where the vehicle is detected).

When this warning is activated, the warning indicator on the outside rearview mirror illuminates. It will also flash.

When the turn signal is turned off, the second-stage warning (warning chime and flashing warning indicator on the outside rearview mirror) will be deactivated.

- The Stage 2 alarm can be turned off.

  • To activate the warning: Go to User Settings Mode → Driver Assistance and select "Blind-Spot Collision Warning" on the LCD display.
  • To deactivate the warning: Go to User Settings Mode → Driver Assistance and uncheck "Blind-Spot Collision Warning" on the LCD display.

CAUTION

The warning sound function helps alert the driver. Turn off this function only when necessary. See "User Settings Mode" in Chapter 4.

Detection Sensor

The sensors are located inside the rear bumper.

Always keep the rear bumper clean for the system to function properly.
