Defogging Logic

To reduce the possibility of fogging on the inside of the windshield, the air intake or air conditioning is controlled automatically according to certain conditions such asorposition. To cancel the automatic defogging logic or return to the automatic defogging logic, perform the following steps.

Manual Climate Control System

1. Turn the ignition key to the ON position.

2. Press the defroster button ( ).

3. Within 3 seconds after pressing the defroster button, press the air intake control button at least 5 times within 3 seconds.

If the battery has been discharged or disconnected, the system resets to the default anti-fog logic state.

Automatic Climate Control System

1. Turn the ignition key to the ON position.

2. Press the defroster button ( ).

3. While holding down the air conditioner (A/C) button, press the air intake control button at least 5 times within 3 seconds.

The recirculation indicator flashes 3 times at 0.5-second intervals. This indicates that the anti-fog logic has been canceled or returned to its programmed state.

If the battery has been discharged or disconnected, the system resets to the default anti-fog logic state.

Automatic Defogging System

The automatic anti-fog function reduces the possibility of fogging on the inside of the windshield by automatically detecting humidity inside the windshield.

The automatic anti-fog system operates when the heater or air conditioner is on.

This indicator illuminates when the automatic anti-fog system detects humidity on the inside of the windshield and is operating.

The automatic anti-fog system removes excess moisture from the inside of the windshield in stages. For example, if automatic defogging does not clear fogging inside the windshield in Step 1 (Outside Air position), retry defogging in Step 2 (Air conditioner operation).

Step 1: Outside air position
Step 2: Air conditioner operation
Step 3: Direct airflow to the windshield
Step 4: Increase airflow to the windshield

To cancel or reset the automatic anti-fog system

Press the windshield defroster button for 3 seconds with the ignition switch in the ON position. When the automatic anti-fog system is turned off, the ADS OFF symbol will flash 3 times and ADS OFF will appear on the climate control information display.

When the automatic anti-fog system is reset, the ADS OFF symbol will flash 6 times without a signal.

CAUTION

Do not remove the sensor cover located at the top of the windshield on the passenger side. Damage to system components may occur and may not be covered by your vehicle warranty.

Automatic Ventilation

With the ignition on or the engine running, if the outside air temperature is below 15 °C, the automatic ventilation function activates when the recirculation air intake position has been selected for more than 5 minutes with the A/C off and the floor mode selected. In this condition, the air intake position automatically switches to outside (fresh) air intake.

To cancel or reset automatic ventilation

When the air conditioning system is on, select Face Level.mode, and continue pressing the air intake control button for more than 3 seconds.

When automatic ventilation is canceled, the indicator flashes 3 times. When automatic ventilation is turned on, the indicator flashes 6 times.
