The Reverse Parking Distance Warning (RPDW) system assists the driver when reversing by sounding a warning tone if an object is detected within 120 cm (47 in.) behind the vehicle.

This system is a supplemental system and does not replace the driver's need for caution and attention. The detection range and objects detected by the rear sensors (➀) are limited. When reversing, pay the same attention to what is behind you as you would in a vehicle without the Reverse Parking Distance Warning system.

WARNING - Reverse Parking Distance Warning

Never rely solely on the Reverse Parking Distance Warning. Always perform a visual inspection to make sure the area is clear of all obstacles before moving the vehicle in any direction. Stop immediately if you see a child anywhere near your vehicle. Some objects may not be detected by the sensors due to the size or material of the object.
