Brake/Clutch Fluid Level Inspection

Periodically check the fluid level in the reservoir. The fluid level should be between the MAX and MIN marks on the side of the reservoir.
Before removing the reservoir cap and adding brake/clutch fluid, clean the area around the reservoir cap to prevent contamination of the brake/clutch fluid.
If the level is low, add fluid up to the MAX level. The level will drop as mileage accumulates. This is normal and is related to brake pad wear.
If the fluid level is too low, have the system inspected by a professional workshop. Kia recommends visiting an authorized Kia dealer/service partner.
Use only the specified brake fluid. (Refer to "Recommended Lubricants or Capacities" on page 9-11.)
Never mix different types of fluid.
WARNING
Brake/Clutch Fluid Leak
If the brake/clutch system requires frequent addition of fluid, the system must be inspected by a professional workshop. Kia recommends visiting an authorized Kia dealer/service partner.
WARNING
Brake/Clutch Fluid
Handle brake/clutch fluid with care when changing and adding it. Do not allow it to contact your eyes. If brake fluid/clutch fluid gets into your eyes, immediately flush them with a large amount of fresh tap water. Have your eyes examined by a doctor as soon as possible.
CAUTION
Do not allow brake fluid/clutch fluid to contact the vehicle body paint, as it will damage the paint. Brake/clutch fluid that has been exposed to open air for a long time should never be used, as its quality cannot be guaranteed. Dispose of it properly. Do not add the wrong fluid. A few drops of mineral-based oil, such as engine oil, in the brake/clutch system may damage brake/clutch system components.
