Headrest

For the safety and comfort of the driver and front passenger, the seats are equipped with head restraints.
The head restraint not only provides comfort for the driver and passengers but also protects the head and neck in the event of an accident.
WARNING
- To provide maximum protection in an accident, the head restraint must be adjusted so that the center of the occupant's head is level with the horizontal center of the head restraint. Generally, the center of the head is at the level of the upper part of the eyes.
Also, adjust the head restraint as close as possible to the head. For this reason, using cushions to move the back away from the seatback is not recommended.
- Do not drive without the head restraints, as occupants would be exposed to the risk of serious injury in an accident. When properly adjusted, head restraints provide effective neck protection.
- Do not adjust the driver's head restraint position while the vehicle is moving.
- When the rear seats are not occupied, adjust the head restraint height to its lowest position. Rear head restraints may reduce rearward visibility.

Vertical adjustment To raise the head restraint, pull it up to the desired position (1). To lower the head restraint, press and hold the release button (2) on the support, then lower it to the desired position (3).

Removal and installation To remove the head restraint:
- Recline the seatback (2) using the seatback lever or switch (1).
- Raise the head restraint as far as it will go.
- Press the head restraint release button (3) and pull the head restraint upward (4).
CAUTION Do NOT allow anyone to sit in a seat with the head restraint removed.

To reinstall the head restraint:
- Insert the head restraint posts (2) into the holes while holding down the release button (1).
- Recline the seatback (4) using the seatback lever or switch (3).
- Adjust the head restraint to the appropriate height.

Active head restraint (if equipped) The active head restraint is designed to move forward and upward in a rear-end collision. In this way, it prevents the driver's and front passenger's heads from snapping backward, reducing the risk of neck injury.
CAUTION The active head restraint is a safety device designed to reduce the severity of injuries in a rear-end collision. Do not intentionally strike or pull the head restraint.Test yourself
