~1min read
Follow the normal maintenance schedule if the vehicle is normally operated where none of the following conditions apply. If any of the following conditions apply, follow the maintenance instructions for Severe Operating Conditions.
- Repeated short trips of less than 8 km (5 miles) in normal temperatures, or less than 16 km (10 miles) at freezing temperatures
- Extended engine idling or low-speed driving, or long-distance driving
- Driving on bumpy, dusty, muddy, unpaved, gravel, or salted roads
- Driving in areas using salt or other corrosive materials, or in very cold weather
- Driving in severely dusty conditions
- Driving in heavy stop-and-go traffic
- Driving uphill, downhill, or on mountainous roads repeatedly
- Towing a trailer, using a camper, or using a roof rack
- Driving as a police car, taxi, or other commercial use or towing a trailer
- Driving at a speed above 170 km/h
- Frequent driving in stop-and-go conditions
If your vehicle is operated under the above conditions, you must inspect, replace, or refill more often than the next normal maintenance schedule interval. After the periods or distances shown in the schedule, continue to follow the prescribed maintenance intervals.
