Steering Wheel Audio Control Operation

When the audio unit is on, the audio unit can be operated from the steering wheel.

NOTE

The audio unit will turn off under the following conditions, and the switches will not function.

• When the ignition switch is in the OFF position.
• When the audio unit power button is pressed and the audio unit is off.

Without Bluetooth hands-free phone

With Bluetooth hands-free phone

NOTE

• The call, answer and end call keys can be used when the audio unit is off.
• Mazda has installed this system to prevent distraction when the vehicle is in motion and uses the audio controls on the steering wheel. Safe driving must always be the top priority.

Volume Adjustment

To increase the volume, press the volume switch up (
).

To decrease the volume, press the volume switch down ( ).

Seek Switch

When listening to the radio

Press the seek switch ( ,
). The radio moves to the next/previous preset station in preset order (1 to 6).

Press and hold the seek switch ( ,
) to search all receivable stations at a higher or lower frequency, whether preset or not.

You can call up the stations previously stored in auto memory by pressing the seek switch (,
) while any of the
stations stored in auto memory is being received. Each time you press the switch ( ,
.

When playing a CD, USB, iPod or Bluetooth audio*1

Press the seek switch () to skip to the beginning of the
next track.

Press the seek switch () a few seconds after the
start of playback to skip to the previous track.

Press the seek switch () after a few seconds
to restart playback from the beginning of the current track.

Press and hold the seek switch ( ,
) to skip continuously to the next or previous tracks.

Mute Switch

Press the mute switch () once to
mute the sound; press again to restore the sound.

NOTE

If the ignition switch is turned OFF while the audio unit is muted, the mute will be cancelled. Therefore, once the engine is restarted, the audio unit will no longer be muted.

To mute again, press the mute switch (
).
