WARNING

Handle, store and dispose of all operating fluids and lubricants in accordance with applicable regulations to avoid endangering yourself or others.

Keep operating fluids and lubricants out of reach of children.

To avoid harm to your health, avoid direct contact of operating fluids and lubricants with the eyes or open wounds. If swallowed, consult a doctor immediately.

Environmental protection

Dispose of operating fluids and lubricants in accordance with environmental protection regulations!

Operating fluids and lubricants are:

  • fuels (e.g. gasoline or diesel)
  • lubricants (e.g. engine oil or transmission oil)
  • coolant
  • brake fluid
  • washer fluid
  • air conditioning refrigerant

Vehicle components and operating fluids and lubricants must be matched to each other. Mercedes-Benz recommends using products tested and approved by Mercedes-Benz. These are listed in this Mercedes-Benz Operator's Manual, in the corresponding chapter.

Operating fluids and lubricants approved by Mercedes-Benz can be identified by the markings on the container:

  • MB approval (for example MB approval 229.51)
  • MB Approval (for example MB Approval 229.51)

Other information and recommendations referring to a quality level or specification with an MB sheet number (for example MB 229.5) are not necessarily approved by Mercedes-Benz.
