de diagnostic moteur s'allume alors que le moteur tourne

The amber engine diagnostics warning lamp
lights up while the engine is running.

A malfunction may have occurred, for example
  • in the engine management system
  • in the injection system
  • in the exhaust system
  • in the ignition system (vehicles with a petrol engine)
  • in the fuel supply system

Such a malfunction may cause emission limits to be exceeded and the engine to switch to limp-home mode.

  • Have the vehicle checked by a qualified workshop as soon as possible.

Diesel engine vehicles: you have driven until the tank was completely empty.

  • After refuelling, crank the engine 3 or 4 times in succession.

When the amber engine diagnostics warning lamp goes out, limp-home mode has been exited. The vehicle does not need to be checked.

The amber fuel reserve warning lamp
lights up while the engine is running.

The fuel level has reached the reserve level.
  • Refuel at the next filling station.

The red coolant warning lamp
lights up while the engine is running and the coolant temperature gauge is at the start of the scale.

The coolant temperature gauge sensor is faulty.

Coolant temperature is no longer being monitored. If the coolant is too hot, the engine may be damaged.

  • Stop immediately, taking traffic conditions into account, and switch off the engine. Do not continue driving!
  • Apply the parking brake.
  • Contact a qualified workshop.

The red coolant warning lamp
lights up while the engine is running.

The coolant level is too low.

If the coolant level is correct, the airflow to the engine radiator may be blocked or the radiator electric fan may be faulty.

The coolant is too hot and the engine is not cooling sufficiently.

  • Observe the other messages that appear on the multifunction display.
  • Stop immediately, taking traffic conditions into account, and switch off the engine.
  • Apply the electric parking brake.
  • Leave the vehicle and keep away until the engine has cooled down.
  • Check the coolant level and top up. Observe the warnings for this.
  • If you have to top up coolant frequently, have the engine cooling system checked.
  • Make sure the air intake to the engine radiator is not blocked (by frozen snow, for example).
  • Wait until the coolant temperature is below 120le moteur. Sinon, le moteur risque d'être endommagé.before restarting
the engine. Otherwise, the engine may be damaged.
  • Drive to the nearest qualified workshop.
  • In this case, avoid high engine loads (mountain driving, for example) and driving in heavy traffic.

may be blocked, or the coolant level may be too low.

WARNING

The engine is not sufficiently cooled and may be damaged.

Do not drive when the engine has overheated. Fluids that have spilled into the engine compartment due to leaks or improper handling could ignite.

In addition, steam escaping from an overheated engine can cause severe burns, even when simply opening the hood.

Risk of injury.

  • Observe the other messages that appear on the multifunction display.
  • Stop immediately, taking traffic conditions into account, and switch off the engine.
  • Apply the electric parking brake.
  • Leave the vehicle and keep away until the engine has cooled down.
  • Check the coolant level and top up if necessary. Observe the warnings.
  • If you have to top up coolant frequently, have the engine cooling system checked.
  • Make sure the air intake to the engine radiator is not blocked (by frozen snow, for example).
  • If the coolant temperature is below 120 °C, continue driving to the nearest qualified workshop.
  • In this case, avoid high engine loads (mountain driving, for example) and driving in heavy traffic.
