PRECAUTIONS WHEN WORKING ON THE AIR CONDITIONING REFRIGERANT CIRCUIT

dans tous les cas, ces précautions générales.Always observe these general precautions.

Safety rules

  • Wear gloves and protective goggles to avoid the risk of frostbite.
  • Do not handle refrigerant near a flame or a very hot object, to avoid releasing toxic vapours.
  • Work in a well-ventilated area.
  • Handle used compressor lubricating oil with care, as it may contain acids.

Precautions when opening the circuit

  • Cap all lines immediately to prevent moisture from entering (use suitable plugs).
  • New parts must be at ambient temperature before unpacking, to prevent condensation.
  • Remove the caps from the part connections only at the last moment before fitting.
les pièces ne possédant pas de bouchon.Do not fit parts that do not have a plug.
  • The desiccant cartridge must be replaced after any work on the refrigerant circuit.

Precautions when fitting connections

  • Use only new seals.
  • Lubricate the seals with compressor oil.
  • Tighten connections to the specified torque, using a counter-wrench wherever possible.

General circuit protection

  • Never start the air conditioning system if the refrigerant circuit has been drained.
  • Do not remove the compressor filler plug while the circuit is charged.

EQUIPMENT

The refrigerant circuit may only be charged with specific equipment. If no charging station is available, it is strongly recommended not to work on the circuit.

However, when carrying out mechanical or bodywork operations, it may be possible and sometimes necessary to move a component belonging to the air conditioning circuit.

In this case, simply make sure that no lines are disconnected. If you have a charging unit, it is important to follow the manufacturer's instructions.
