Remote control fault

After disconnecting the battery, replacing the battery or if the remote control is faulty, it is not possible to lock, unlock or locate the vehicle.

  • First insert the key into the lock to lock or unlock the vehicle.
  • Then re-initialise the remote control.

If the problem persists, contact a PEUGEOT dealer as soon as possible.

Re-initialisation

  • Turn the ignition off.
  • Turn the key to position 2 (ignition).
  • At the same time, press and hold the padlock button for a few seconds.
  • Switch off the ignition and remove the key from the ignition switch.

The remote control is fully operational again.

Battery replacement

Battery type: CR1620 / 3 V.

A discharged battery is indicated by this warning light coming on, accompanied by an audible signal and a message on the multifunction display.

  • Open the cover by prying up the special recess with a coin.
  • Remove the worn battery from its housing.
  • Insert the new battery into the housing, observing its polarity.
  • Close the housing.
  • Re-initialise the remote control.
Lost keysContact a PEUGEOT dealer with the vehicle registration document and an identity document.

The PEUGEOT dealer will retrieve the key code and transponder code and order a new set of keys.

Remote Control

The remote control is a very sensitive device; take care that it does not unlock the vehicle doors accidentally while carried in a pocket. Do not press the remote control button unnecessarily when out of range of the vehicle. This may cause the remote control to lose synchronisation. In this case, resynchronisation is necessary.

The remote control does not work when the key is in the ignition switch, even with the ignition off, until it is resynchronised.

Locking the vehicle

Driving with the doors locked may hinder rescue operations inside the cabin in an emergency.

For safety reasons (children left in the vehicle), always remove the key from the ignition when leaving the vehicle, even briefly.

Anti-theft system

Do not modify the electronic ignition lock system in any way, as this may cause it to malfunction.

When buying a used vehicle

Have the keys registered at a PEUGEOT dealer to make sure they are the only keys able to start the vehicle.

Do not dispose of used remote control batteries with household waste; they contain metals that are harmful to the environment.

Take them to a special collection point for this type of waste.
