Fuel tank
Tank capacity: approximately 50 litres (petrol engine) or 48 litres (diesel engine).
Minimum fuel level
When the
minimum fuel level is reached, the warning lamp will come on in the instrument panel. When it first comes on, approximately 5 litres of fuel remain in the tank.
Be sure to refuel to avoid a malfunction.
If the vehicle has run out of fuel (diesel engine), refer to the "Checks" section.
Refuelling

The label attached inside the fuel filler flap shows the type of fuel suitable for the engine.
Additional quantities of fuel must be more than 5 litres to be taken into account by the fuel level indicator.
The key cannot be removed from the lock until the fuel filler cap has been refitted in place.Opening the cap may produce a hissing sound as air enters. This is completely normal and the vacuum is caused by the fuel system being sealed.
To refuel safely:
- always switch off the engine,
- open the fuel filler flap,
- insert the key into the cap, then turn it anticlockwise,

- unscrew the cap and hang it on the hook on the inside of the flap,
- When topping up the tank, stop refuelling after the third automatic cut-off of the nozzle. Otherwise, the system may malfunction.

After refuelling:
- refit the cap,
- turn the key to the right, then remove the key from the cap,
- close the fuel filler flap
Quality of fuel used in petrol engines
Petrol engines are very well suited to operation with E10 biofuels (containing 10% ethanol), which comply with European standards EN 228 and EN 15376.
E85 fuels (containing up to 85% ethanol) are reserved exclusively for vehicles that can use this type of fuel (BioFlex vehicles).
The quality of the ethanol must comply with European standard EN 15293.
Only in Brazil are vehicles available that can use fuels with an ethanol content of up to 100% (type E100).

Quality of fuel used in diesel engines
Diesel engines are very well suited to operation with biofuels that comply with current and future European standards (diesel fuel complying with standard EN 590 blended with biofuel complying with standard EN 14214), available at fuel stations (possible fatty acid methyl ester content: from 0 to 7%).
The use of B30 biofuel is possible in some diesel engines, but using this fuel requires strict compliance with special servicing conditions. Contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a specialist workshop.
The use of other types of biofuel (pure or diluted vegetable or animal oils, heating oil, etc.) is strictly prohibited (risk of damage to the engine and fuel system).
