Air intake

Cabin air is filtered. It enters from outside through the vents at the base of the windshield, or it is recirculated from inside the cabin.

Air treatment

Depending on the driver's selection, cabin air passes through different systems:

  • it enters the cabin directly (fresh air intake from outside),
  • it passes through the heating system (heating),
  • it passes through the cooling system (air conditioning).

The temperature switch achieves the desired comfort by mixing air flowing through the different air paths.

The air distribution control allows you to divide the airflow between the individual vents.

The fan speed control allows you to increase or decrease the blower fan speed.

Control panel

The switches for this system are located on panel A of the center console. Depending on the model, the switches have the following functions:

  • adjustable comfort level,
  • fan speed,
  • air distribution,
  • defrosting and demisting,
  • manual or automatic air conditioning controls.

Air distribution

  1. Windscreen defrosting or demisting vents.
  2. Front side window defrosting or demisting vents.
  3. Side vents, closable and adjustable.
  4. Centre vents, closable and adjustable.
  5. Front passenger footwell air outlets.
  6. Rear passenger footwell air outlets.

VENTILATION AND AIR CONDITIONING RECOMMENDATIONS

For both systems to work fully effectively, observe the following operating and maintenance guidelines:

  • To ensure even air distribution, do not block the outside air intakes at the base of the windshield, the vents, the air outlets, or the air extraction vent in the luggage compartment.
  • Do not cover the sunlight sensor on the dashboard. It is used to control the automatic air conditioning system.
  • If the air conditioning is not used, run the system for at least 5 to 10 minutes once or twice a month to keep it working properly.
  • Check the cabin filter for cleanliness and replace the filter elements periodically. In severe conditions, replace them twice as often (see the "Checks" section).

We recommend using a combined cabin filter. The additional active filter improves the purification of the air breathed in by passengers and keeps the cabin cleaner (reducing allergy symptoms, unpleasant odors and greasy deposits).

  • To keep the air conditioning system working properly, have it checked regularly as recommended in the service book.
  • If the system does not cool, switch off the air conditioning and contact an authorised PEUGEOT dealer or a specialist workshop.
When towing a heavy load up a steep hill or in high temperatures, switching off the air conditioning will restore engine power and improve towing performance. If the cabin temperature remains very high after the vehicle has been parked in the sun for a long time, air out the cabin thoroughly for a short time. Then set the airflow control to a level that provides adequate air circulation in the cabin.

The air conditioning system does not contain chlorine and does not harm the ozone layer.

A puddle under the parked vehicle is normal. It is condensed water from the air conditioning condenser.
