Electronic immobiliser
It locks the engine management system as soon as the ignition is switched off and prevents the vehicle from being started by force.
The key contains an electronic chip which has a specific code.
When the ignition is switched on, the code must be recognised for the engine to start.
If the system malfunctions, the following warning light comes on:
Electronic immobiliser
warning light
It is accompanied by a message on the multifunction display.
Your vehicle does not start.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
Lost keys
Go to a PEUGEOT dealer with the vehicle registration document and your identity document.
The PEUGEOT network can retrieve the key code and transponder code to order a replacement key.
Remote control
The high-frequency remote control is a sensitive system; do not handle it in your pockets, as this risks unlocking the vehicle without your knowledge.
Avoid pressing the buttons of your remote control when out of range and out of sight of your vehicle.
You risk rendering it inoperative.
A new reset would then be necessary.
The remote control cannot operate while the key is in the ignition switch, even with the ignition off, except for resetting.
Closing the vehicle
Driving with the doors locked may make it more difficult for rescue services to access the passenger compartment in an emergency.
For safety (children on board), remove the key from the ignition switch when leaving the vehicle, even for a short time.
Theft protection
Do not modify the electronic immobiliser system, as this could cause malfunctions.
When buying a used vehicle
Have the keys programmed by the PEUGEOT network, to be sure that the keys in your possession are the only ones that allow the vehicle to be started.
Do not dispose of remote control batteries; they contain metals that are harmful to the environment.
Take them to an approved collection point.
