Fuel tank
Fuel tank capacity: approximately 67 litres.
Minimum fuel level
When the fuel tank reaches the minimum level, this warning light comes on in the instrument cluster, accompanied by a warning tone and a message on the multifunction display.
When the warning light first comes on, about 6 litres of fuel remain.
If you run out of fuel (Diesel), also refer to the "Checks" chapter.
Topping up

A label stuck inside the fuel filler flap reminds you of the fuel type to use for your engine.
Fuel top-ups must be more than 5 litres to be registered by the fuel gauge.
Opening the fuel cap may produce a hissing sound of air being drawn in. This vacuum is completely normal and is caused by the sealing of the fuel system.
To refuel safely:
- always switch off the engine,
- open the fuel filler flap,
- turn the fuel cap anticlockwise,
- remove the cap and hang it on the hook on the inside of the flap,
- fill the tank, but do not continue after the third automatic cut-off of the nozzle; this could cause malfunctions.
Once refuelling is complete:
- screw the cap back on,
- close the fuel filler flap.
Malfunction
A fuel gauge malfunction is indicated when the fuel level needle drops back to zero.
Have it checked by the PEUGEOT network.
Fuel quality for petrol engines
Petrol engines are fully compatible with E10 petrol biofuels (containing 10% ethanol), which comply with the European standards EN 228 and EN 15376.
E85 fuels (containing up to 85% ethanol) are reserved exclusively for vehicles sold for use with this type of fuel (BioFlex vehicles).
The quality of the ethanol must comply with the European standard EN 15293.
For Brazil only, specific vehicles are sold to run on fuels containing up to 100% ethanol (type E100).
Quality of fuel used for Diesel engines
Diesel engines are fully compatible with biofuels that meet current and future European standards (diesel complying with standard EN 590 blended with a biofuel complying with standard EN 14214) that may be sold at the pump (possible blend of 0 to 7% Fatty Acid Methyl Ester).
B30 biofuel can be used in certain Diesel engines. However, its use is subject to strict compliance with the special maintenance requirements.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
Using any other type of (bio)fuel (pure or diluted vegetable or animal oils, domestic heating oil, etc.) is strictly prohibited. It risks damaging the engine and the fuel system.
