Air conditioning: information and usage advice
Usage advice
In some cases (air conditioning off, air recirculation activated, fan speed zero or low, etc.) you may notice condensation forming on the windows and windscreen of the vehicle.
If condensation forms, use the "clear view" function to remove it, then preferably use the air conditioning in automatic mode to prevent it from forming.
Vehicles equipped with ECO mode: when it is activated, ECO mode may reduce the performance of the automatic air conditioning.
Refer to the "ECO driving" section in chapter 2.
Fuel consumption
It is normal to notice an increase in fuel consumption (especially in urban driving) while the air conditioning is in use.
For vehicles equipped with air conditioning without automatic mode, switch the system off when you no longer need it.
Tips for minimising consumption and helping to protect the environment
Drive with the vents open and the windows closed.
If the vehicle has been parked in extreme heat or direct sunlight, ventilate it for a few minutes to expel the hot air before starting.
Maintenance
Refer to your vehicle's service document for inspection intervals.
Operating faults
In general, if a malfunction occurs, consult a brand representative.
- Reduced efficiency of defrosting, demisting or air conditioning.
This may be caused by a clogged cabin filter cartridge.
Check that the controls are correctly set and that the fuses are in good condition.
Otherwise, switch the system off.Water under the vehicle
After prolonged use of the air conditioning, it is normal to find water under the vehicle, coming from condensation.
Do not open the refrigerant circuit. The refrigerant is dangerous to the eyes and skin.
