Ignition on, operate lever 1

  • A off.
  • B intermittent wipe.

Between wipes, the blades stop for several seconds.

The interval between wipes can be changed by turning ring 2.

  • C slow continuous wipe.
  • D fast continuous wipe.

Positions B, C and D are accessible with the ignition on.

Vehicles with automatic wiping function

Engine running, operate lever 1

  • A off.
  • B automatic rain-sensing wipe

With this position selected, the system detects water on the windscreen and triggers wipes at the appropriate wiping speed. The rain-sensor threshold and the time between wipes can be changed by turning ring 2:

  • E: minimum sensitivity
  • F: maximum sensitivity

Note: in fog or snowfall, automatic wiping is not guaranteed and remains under the driver's control.

  • C slow continuous wipe.
  • D fast continuous wipe.

Position C is accessible with the ignition on. Positions B and D are accessible only with the engine running.

Special feature

While driving, any stop of the vehicle reduces the wiping speed. Example: from fast continuous speed you switch to slow continuous speed.

As soon as the vehicle moves, wiping returns to the originally selected speed.

Any action on lever 1 takes priority and cancels this automatic function.

Starting the vehicle with the lever in position D triggers slow continuous wiping. A new action of the lever to position D is required to trigger fast continuous wiping.

Windscreen washer

Lave-vitre

Ignition on, pull lever 1 towards you.

A short action triggers, in addition to washing, one back-and-forth sweep of the wipers.

A prolonged action triggers, in addition to the washer, continuous wiping until the request ends, then three back-and-forth sweeps followed, after a few seconds, by a fourth.

Do not try to lift the wiper blades off the windscreen. They cannot stay raised off the windscreen.

To replace the blades, refer to the "Wiper blades" section in chapter 5.

When working under the bonnet, make sure the wiper lever is in position A (off).

Risk of injury.

Before any work on the windscreen (vehicle washing, defrosting, windscreen cleaning...), return lever 1 to position A (off).

Risk of injury and/or damage.

In snow or frost conditions, clear the windscreen (including the central area behind the interior rear-view mirror) and the rear window before switching on the wipers (risk of wiper motor overheating).

Check the condition of the wiper blades.

Their service life depends on you:

  • they must be kept clean: clean the blades, windscreen and rear window regularly with soapy water;
  • do not use them when the windscreen or rear window is dry;
  • lift them off the windscreen or rear window when they have not been used for a long time.

In all cases, replace them as soon as their efficiency decreases: approximately every year.
