Transporting objects in the luggage compartment

Always place transported objects so that their largest dimension rests against:

• The rear seatback, which is the case for normal loads (case A).

• The front seatbacks with the rear seatbacks folded down, which is the case for maximum loads (case B).

If you need to place objects on the folded seatback, you must remove the head restraints before folding the seatback, so that it lies as flat as possible against the seat cushion.

Always
place the heaviest objects directly on the floor.

Where the vehicle is so equipped, use the tie-down points 1 located on the luggage compartment floor. Load the vehicle so that no object can be thrown forward onto the occupants during sudden braking. Fasten the rear seat belts even when there are no occupants.
