Automatic mode
Automatic air conditioning is a system that ensures (except in extreme conditions of use) a comfortable ambient temperature in the passenger compartment and maintains good visibility while optimising fuel consumption. The system controls the fan speed, the air distribution, air recirculation, switching the air conditioning on or off, and the air temperature.
This mode has three programs to choose from: AUTO: optimizes reaching the chosen comfort level according to outside conditions. Press button 3.
SOFT: softens the approach to the desired comfort level. The comfort level is then maintained more gently and quietly. Press button 2.
FAST: intensifies the system's action to quickly reach the desired comfort level. Use this program when carrying rear passengers. Press button 4.
Adjusting the temperature
Press either button 1 or 5 to increase or decrease the temperature.
Pressing button 3 for more than 2 seconds sets the passenger temperature to the driver's temperature.
Note: the extreme settings allow the system to produce maximum cooling or maximum heating (display shows "LO" and "HI" on display 12).
Switching off the system
Press the bottom of button 11 repeatedly until the system switches off.
To switch it on, press the top of switch 11 or any of switches 2, 3 or 4.
Some buttons have an indicator light showing the status of the function.
Changing the fan speed
In automatic mode, the system manages the fan speed best suited to reach and maintain comfort.
You can always adjust the fan speed by pressing the top or bottom of button 11 to increase or decrease the fan speed.
In this case, the fan speed, which is no longer controlled automatically, is shown on the display.
Switching the air conditioning on or off
In automatic mode, the system controls switching the air conditioning on or off according to outside weather conditions.
Press button 10 to force the air conditioning to switch off.
Preferably use automatic mode by selecting one of the automatic programs AUTO, SOFT or FAST.In automatic mode (indicator on button 3 lit), all air conditioning functions are controlled by the system.
You can still change a setting manually. In this case, the indicator on button 3 goes off and the modified function, which is no longer controlled by the system, is shown on display 12.
To return to automatic mode, press one of the AUTO, SOFT or FAST programs.
The displayed temperature values reflect a comfort level. When starting the vehicle, increasing or decreasing the displayed value will in no way reach the comfort level faster. The system always optimizes the cooling or heating process (the fan does not start instantly at maximum speed: it increases gradually). This may take from a few seconds to several minutes.
In general, unless there is a specific reason, the dashboard vents must remain open at all times.

Changing the air distribution in the passenger compartment
There are seven airflow distribution settings. Press switch 6 to cycle through them. The arrows in zone a of display 12 combine to show the selected distribution:
the airflow is
directed to the outlet located on top of the dashboard (setting providing more diffuse ventilation).
the airflow is
directed to the dashboard vents (setting for heating or cooling the cabin more quickly).
the airflow is
mainly directed to the occupants' feet.
the airflow is
directed to the defrost grilles of the windshield and side windows (setting that helps limit fogging).
In this case, the air distribution in the cabin, which is no longer controlled automatically, is shown on the display.
Rear window defrost/demist
Press button 7; the integrated indicator lights up. This function provides rapid demisting of the rear window and heated mirrors (on vehicles so equipped).
To exit this function, press button 7 again. Otherwise, demisting stops automatically.
"Clear view" function
Press button 8; the integrated indicator lights up and the indicator on button 3 goes off.
This function provides rapid defrosting and demisting of the windscreen and rear window, the front side windows and the external mirrors (depending on vehicle). It automatically activates the air conditioning and rear window defroster.
Press button 7 to stop the heated rear window; the integrated indicator goes off.
You can change the fan speed: press button 11.
To exit this function, you can press:
- button 8 again;
- any of buttons 2, 3 or 4.

Air recirculation
This function is controlled automatically, but you can also activate it manually.
Note
- during recirculation, air is taken from the cabin and recirculated without admitting outside air;
- air recirculation isolates the cabin from outside air (driving in polluted areas, etc.).
Manual operation
Press button 9 to force air recirculation; the integrated indicator lights up. Prolonged use of this setting may cause odors due to lack of fresh air, as well as fogging on the windows.
It is therefore advisable to return to automatic mode by pressing button 9 again as soon as air recirculation is no longer needed.
In automatic mode (AUTO lit on the display), all air conditioning functions are controlled by the system. When you change certain functions, AUTO goes off. Only the modified function is no longer controlled by the system.
Demisting/defrosting always takes priority over air recirculation. In some cases (high humidity, etc.), air recirculation will not activate automatically in order to maintain visibility (fresh outside air continues to be supplied).
