Petrol version specifics
Operating conditions of your vehicle such as:
- driving for an extended period with the low fuel warning light on;
- use of leaded petrol;
- use of lubricant or fuel additives that are not approved.
Or operating faults such as:
- faulty ignition system, fuel shortage or disconnected spark plug, resulting in misfires and jolts while driving;
- loss of power,
cause the catalytic converter to overheat, reduce its efficiency, may lead to its destruction and cause heat damage to the vehicle.
If you notice the operating faults above, have the necessary repairs carried out by a Brand Representative as soon as possible.
By regularly taking your vehicle to a brand representative at the intervals recommended in the service document, you will avoid these incidents.
Starting problems
To avoid damaging your catalytic converter, do not persist in trying to start the engine (by using the starter, or by pushing or towing the vehicle) without having identified and corrected the cause of the fault.
Otherwise, do not try to start the engine again and contact a Brand Representative.
Do not park or run the engine in places where flammable substances or materials such as grass or leaves may come into contact with a hot exhaust system.Test yourself
