Fuel Rail - Injectors
F4R or K4J
Tightening torques |
|
| fuel rail mounting bolts | 0.9 daN.m |
The injectors are secured to the fuel rail by clips.
Fuel constantly circulates around the circumference of the injector body. This fuel flushing prevents the formation of petrol vapour bubbles and improves hot starting.
REMOVAL
- Disconnect the battery.
- Remove the engine covers.

- Remove the two fuel rail cover retaining nuts (1).
- Release the wiring harness.
K4J

- Disconnect:
- the fuel supply pipe (2),
- the wiring harness (3) of the injectors and the knock sensor.
Beware of fuel spray when disconnecting the fuel supply fitting from the fuel rail.
WARNINGProtect the alternator from fuel flowing out of the rail and the supply pipe.
F4R

- Disconnect:
- the fuel supply pipe (2),
- the wiring harness (3) of the injectors and the knock sensor.
Beware of fuel spray when disconnecting the fuel supply fitting from the fuel rail.
WARNINGProtect the alternator from fuel flowing out of the rail and the supply pipe.
K4J

- Remove:
- the two fuel rail retaining bolts (4),
- the fuel rail by carefully pulling it towards you.
F4R

ON THE WORKBENCH
K4J

- Remove:
- the injector clips (5),
- the injectors (6).
F4R

- Remove:
- the injector clips (5),
- the injectors (6).
INSTALLATION
WARNINGAlways replace the O-rings and the injector retaining clips.
- Fit the fuel rail.
- Tighten the fuel rail mounting bolts to torque (0.9 daN.m).
- Refit in the reverse order of removal.
Connect the battery; carry out the necessary re-learns (see Electrical Equipment chapter).
