SRS Care
The SRS requires virtually no maintenance, and there are no parts that can be safely serviced by the owner. If the SRS airbag warning light does not illuminate when the ENGINE START/STOP button is in the ON position, or if it stays on continuously, have the system inspected immediately by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
Any work on the SRS system, such as removal, installation, repair, or any work on the steering wheel, front passenger panel, front seats, and roof rails, must be performed by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer. Improper handling of the SRS system may result in serious injury.
WARNING
To reduce the risk of serious injury or death, observe the following precautions:
- Do not attempt to modify or disconnect SRS components or wiring, including adding any type of emblems to the covers or modifications to the vehicle body structure.
- Do not place objects over or near the airbag modules in the steering wheel, instrument panel, or front passenger panel above the glove box.
- Clean the airbag covers with a soft cloth dampened with plain water. Solvents or cleaning agents may adversely affect the airbag covers and proper deployment of the system.
- Always have deployed airbags replaced by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
- If SRS components must be disposed of, or if the vehicle is to be scrapped, certain precautions must be observed. Consult an authorized HYUNDAI dealer for the necessary information. Failure to observe these precautions may increase the risk of injury.
