To open, insert the key into the lock and turn it clockwise.

The lid/hatch can also be unlatched by pulling the release lever located next to the driver's seat, on the door side.

WARNING Always make sure the tailgate/luggage compartment lid is closed and locked. Full closure prevents exhaust gases from entering the vehicle. On hatchback models, fully closing the tailgate may prevent passengers from being thrown out of the vehicle in an accident.

NOTICE Do not use the key to lift the lid/hatch, as this may break the key.
