To open the engine hood, do the following:

  1. Pull the hood release lever, located at the bottom of the instrument panel on the driver's side near the door. The hood latch will then partially release.
  2. Push the hood release lever to the side with your finger, as shown in the illustration. Hold the lever pressed and lift the hood.
  3. Lift the hood until it is high enough to support it with the hood prop rod.

WARNING Before driving, make sure the hood is fully closed and secured. Otherwise it may lift up while driving, obstructing visibility and causing an accident.
