    Other functions

    ■ Switching from outside air mode to recirculated air mode Press . The mode changes from outside air mode (not displayed) to recirculated air mode (displayed) each time the button is pressed.

    ■ Defrosting the windshield The defrosters are used to remove frost from the windshield and front side windows.

    Press.

If recirculated air mode is used, set the outside air/recirculated air mode selector button to outside air mode. (It may switch between modes automatically.) To defog the windshield and side windows more quickly, increase the airflow and the temperature.

To return to the previously selected mode, pressagain when the windshield is defogged.

If the dehumidification function is not on, pressto activate the dehumidification function.

    ■ Rear Window and Outside Rear View Mirror Defogger

    Air Vents

    ■ Air Vent Locations The air vents and air volume change depending on the selected airflow mode.

    *: Some models

    Bocchette dell’aria

    ■ Adjusting the position and opening and closing the vents Airflow can be directed left or right, up or down.

    Bocchette dell’aria
    1. Opens the vent
    2. Closes the vent

The vents cannot be turned fully.

    ■ Using automatic mode The fan speed is automatically adjusted according to the set temperature and ambient conditions.

Then, immediately after pressing, the fan may stop briefly until the cold or warm air is ready to flow.

    ■ Fogged windows

    • When humidity inside the cabin is high, the windows fog up easily. When is turned on, air from the vents is dehumidified and the windshield is effectively defogged.
    • If is turned off, the windows will fog up more easily.
    • The windows may also fog up more easily when recirculated air mode is used.

    ■ Outside air/recirculated air mode

    • When driving on dusty roads, in tunnels or in heavy traffic, set the outside air/recirculated air mode selector button to recirculated air mode. This helps prevent outside air from entering the vehicle cabin. During cooling operation, selecting recirculated air mode also helps cool the cabin effectively.
    • The mode may switch automatically from outside air to recirculated air depending on the set temperature or the cabin temperature.

    ■ If the outside temperature drops to nearly 0°C Even ifis selected, the dehumidification function may not activate.

    ■ Odors from the ventilation and air conditioning system

    • To bring in fresh air from outside, set the air conditioning system to outside air mode.
    • During use, various odors from inside and outside the vehicle can enter and accumulate in the air conditioning system. These odors may then be released into the cabin through the air vents.
    • To reduce the possibility of these odors forming:
    • It is recommended to set the air conditioning system to outside air mode before turning off the engine.
    • The fan may be delayed for a moment immediately after the air conditioning system is turned on in automatic mode.

    ■ Odor from the Air Conditioning System Caused by the Smart Entry and Start System Operation (vehicles with Smart Entry and Start System) When the engine is stopped by the Smart Entry and Start System, a moisture-related odor may be noticed. This does not indicate a malfunction.

    ■ Air Conditioning Filter

    WARNING

    ■ To Prevent Windshield Fogging

    Per prevenire l’appannamento del parabrezza
    • In very humid conditions, do not use when operating with cold air. The difference between the outside air temperature and the windshield temperature may cause the outer surface of the windshield to fog, reducing visibility.
    • Do not place objects on the instrument panel that may block the air vents. Otherwise, airflow may be obstructed, preventing the defroster from defogging the windshield.

    ■ To Avoid Burns (vehicles with outside rear view mirror defoggers) Do not touch the surfaces of the outside rear view mirrors while their defoggers are on.

    NOTE

    ■ To Avoid Battery Discharge With the engine off, do not leave the air conditioning system on longer than necessary.
