Fuel pump shut-off system

To minimize the risk of fuel leakage when the engine stops (1KR engine only) or when an airbag deploys in a collision, the fuel pump shut-off system cuts off fuel supply to the engine.

Follow the procedure below to restart the engine after the system has been activated.

Vehicles without smart entry & start system

   Turn the key in the ignition switch to the "ACC" or "LOCK" position.

   Restart the engine.

Vehicles with smart entry and start system

1. 1
   Turn the engine switch to ACCESSORY mode or turn it off.

   Restart the engine

NOTE

■ Before starting the engine Check the ground under the vehicle.

If fuel leaks onto the ground, the fuel system is damaged and must be repaired. Do not restart the engine.
