Removal

  • · Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  • · On models with manual window regulators, fully close the window and note the position of the regulator handle. Using a wire hook, pull out the handle spring clip and remove the handle from the splines. Remove the washers.
  • · On models with power window regulators, remove the switch panel and disconnect the wiring.
  • · Remove the screw securing the trim panel to the inside door handle.
  • · On early models, remove the screws and the armrest. On later models, remove the screw securing the inside handle bezel in the door armrest and remove the bezel.
  • · Using a wide flat-bladed screwdriver, release the door panel clips and lift the panel off the upper retaining lip. Remove the panel from the door.
  • · If necessary, the water shield can be removed by removing the screws and the handle. Carefully remove the shield from the door so as not to tear it. Try to keep the seal intact to make installation easier.
