Driving abroad

Unleaded petrol

Never use leaded petrol in a vehicle equipped with a catalytic converter. Before travelling abroad, make sure unleaded petrol is available.

Changing the headlamp asymmetry

The low-beam light pattern is asymmetrical, so it illuminates the edge of the road on your side of the road more. If you drive abroad on the opposite side of the road, your headlamps will dazzle oncoming drivers.

Halogen headlamps: To avoid dazzling other drivers, mask certain areas of the headlamp lenses with opaque adhesive strips.

Xenon (gas discharge) headlamps*: The headlamp asymmetry must be changed to avoid dazzling oncoming drivers. For safety reasons, have the headlamp asymmetry changed only by a specialist workshop.

For more information on masking halogen headlamps or adapting xenon headlamps*, please contact your Audi dealer or a specialist workshop.
