Introduction

Work carefully when fitting or removing the towing device.

The removable towball of the towing device is located under the load compartment floor covering, in the luggage compartment.

• For vehicles with a spare wheel, see fig. 200
• For vehicles with a tyre repair kit => see fig. 201.

The tow hitch ball can be removed and fitted manually.

CAUTION!

Do not use any tools or aids to remove or fit the tow hitch ball. You could damage the locking mechanism and compromise the safety of the towing device - risk of accident!!

Note

• Do not modify or repair the tow hitch ball or other components of the towing device.
• If you have any difficulty, contact a specialist workshop.
• Before every journey, check that the tow hitch ball is securely locked.
• Never unlock the tow hitch ball while a trailer or accessory (e.g. bicycle carrier) is still attached.
• To drive without a trailer, remove the tow hitch ball. Make sure the cover seals the mounting tube correctly.
• Before cleaning your vehicle with a steam cleaner, remove the tow hitch ball. Make sure the cover seals the mounting tube correctly.
• To fit and remove the tow hitch ball, we recommend using the gloves supplied with the towing device.
