Replacing fuses
Blown fuses must be replaced.

- Switch off the ignition and switch off the affected electrical consumer.
- Remove the fuse cover using a screwdriver => Fig. 254.
- Determine the fuse for the faulty electrical consumer, see "Fuse assignment".
- Remove the plastic clip from its holder on the fuse cover, place it on the relevant fuse and pull out the fuse.
- If the fuse is blown (recognizable by the melted metal strip), replace it with a new fuse of the same amperage.
- Refit the fuse cover.
The various electrical circuits are protected by fuses.
The fuses are located on the left side of the instrument panel, under a cover.
On the inside of the cover there is a label showing the fuse assignments, as well as two spare fuses.
A crank for the emergency opening of the sunroof is also attached to the inside of the fuse cover.
Warning!
Never "repair" fuses or replace them with fuses of higher amperage - fire hazard! This could cause damage elsewhere in the electrical system.
Note
If the new fuse blows again after a short time, the electrical system must be checked immediately at a specialist workshop.
