Servotronic

The Servotronic system provides electronically controlled power steering assistance.

On vehicles with the Servotronic system, the steering assistance is controlled electronically according to vehicle speed. If the Servotronic system is faulty, the power steering still works. However, the steering assistance is no longer adjusted to vehicle speed. A fault in the electronic control is noticeable mainly because more force than usual is required on the steering wheel to park the vehicle (i.e. when driving at low speed). Have the fault rectified as soon as possible at a specialist workshop.
