Pedals
The pedal travel must never be obstructed by objects or the floor mat.
- Make sure that you can fully depress the accelerator, brake and clutch pedals without obstruction.
- Make sure that the pedals can return freely to their initial position without being obstructed.
Only use floor mats that leave the pedal area clear and that can be secured to the floor.
If a brake circuit fails, you must press the brake pedal harder than usual in order to bring the vehicle to a stop.
CAUTION!
If the pedal travel is obstructed, driving can become very critical.
- Never place objects on the driver's side floor. An object may be located in the pedal area and obstruct pedal travel. In the event of sudden driving or braking maneuvers, you would no longer be able to brake, disengage the clutch or accelerate.
Driver's side floor mat
Only use a floor mat that can be secured to the floor and does not obstruct pedal travel.
- Make sure the floor mat is securely fastened and does not obstruct pedal travel while driving.
Only use floor mats that leave the pedal area clear and that cannot slip. Suitable floor mats are available from a specialist workshop.
CAUTION!
If the pedal travel is obstructed, driving can become very critical and result in serious injury.
- Always make sure that floor mats are securely fastened.
- Never place or install a floor mat or other floor covering on top of one that is already there, as this reduces the pedal area and may obstruct pedal travel - risk of accident!
